Halfway Reflection

1) To keep up with the requirements of this post, I would suggest to develop an entrepreneurial project that you're really passionate about. If you work on developing something that you're highly invested in, the work for this class won't seem as "work" but rather an opportunity to further flourish your enterprise. Also, I highly recommend doing the assignments ahead of time to prevent falling behind or discovering significant problems with your idea.

2) As a student entering college for the first time, there has been multiple instances in the past month alone where "giving up" would have crossed anyone's mind. However, I don't believe that giving up would ever be a viable option. This experience has allowed me to achieve a tremendous amount of self-growth in just a few months, more than I have done in my entire life! Combining high peaks of work throughout the week with personal affairs -- while simultaneously increasing my involvement -- cultivate an inundating form of stress. However, perseverance and tenacity to pull through these difficult times are elements of life that display a surfeit of bravery and strength -- making the light at the end an even more satisfying reward.

3) To foster skills that bolster tenacity, and to develop a strong, persevering mindset, I would recommend the following:

  •  Do all the work ahead of time. Not only will this make Fridays easier, but it will also allow you to fully elaborate your entrepreneurial idea so it can be as developed as possible.
  • Enjoy yourself -- choose an idea that you really like. Shape the assignments into something that inspires and motivates you to work hard, as you continue developing your idea.
  • Don't be temped to quit when you stumble upon different problems with the growth of your project. There are many times when you encounter these roadblocks which make you want to completely scratch everything and start over -- but don't do it. Continue moving forward and working hard, never losing sight of your vision.

  1. Hi, Liana,
I read your assignment. I totally agree with you about “giving up” common. You are right that the experience has allowed us to achieve a tremendous amount of self-growth in just a few months, and you don’t believe that “giving up” would ever be a viable option. Your recommendations are very good suggestions for the new coming students that letting them do all the work ahead of time and don’t be tempted to quit when you stumble upon different problems with the growth of your project.

  2. Liana, it's great to hear that you have had a positive experience and growth in your first few months. Although often stressful, college is the time to learn more about yourself and develop these positive habits and skillsets which will be used for the rest of your life. As you said, working hard on and putting commitment to something you find enjoyment in will make the end result much more rewarding. Keep up the good work!

  3. Hi Liana,

This was inspiring. I need to get into the habit of doing my work before Friday. It hard balancing work and classes but if I took the time to start writing up the blog post before Friday then it would be easier. Never giving up is definitely the mentality to have for college but my advice would be to also explore all options in terms of academics and extra-curricular activities.

Final Reflection

As I look back on all of my old posts, I've come to realize how much I've grown in this class and as an individual ...
